Visual artist. Born in 1988 in France. She comes from a large French family. She doesn’t give her real name. She chose a pseudonym that she has been using since the early years of her work. From her early youth she devoted herself to art. Immediately after graduating from high school, she left her hometown of Paris. She graduated from the École cole des Beaux-Arts in Marseille. She traveled around the world and finally became involved with the art community in Krakow. She married twice to possessive and aggressive men. After the death of her second husband, she was accused by his family of gross ingratitude and causing his death.
She is an activist fighting for women’s rights and fighting against all kinds of exploitation. She does not identify with any current system of power, does not limit herself to any philosophical or political doctrine, she sees flaws in each of them. She refers pejoratively to the value of obedience, which she considers to be the cause of frustration and violence. She considers all systems based on punishment and reward archaic, causing wars and generating oppression.
Misia uses text and collage a lot in her work. She has produced, among others, such series of photographic works as: “68 Still in Progress”, 2023 – iconic slogans that she pulls out again from the archive to ask questions about the present. “Conversations”, 2024 – in which she plays with the role of art itself and its value in contemporary consciousness. She asks a question about patronage, which, through the methodology of targeted distribution of funds, appropriates the field of creators. Who needs an artist if patronage creates the content of art? “I’m an Ugly Woman”, 2017 – a series of works of portraits of women cut out from newspapers.
Misia Delomi lives and works in Paris and Krakow.
Artystka sztuk wizualnych. Urodzona w roku 1988 we Francji. Pochodzi z wielodzietnej francuskiej rodziny. Nie podaje swojego prawdziwego nazwiska. Wybrała pseudonim, którym posługuje się już od wczesnych lat swojej twórczości. Od wczesnej młodości poświęciła się sztuce. Zaraz po maturze opuściła rodzinny Paryż. Studia ukończyła w École cole des Beaux-Arts w Marsylii. Podróżowała po świecie, aż w końcu związała się ze środowiskiem sztuki w Krakowie. Dwukrotnie wyszła za mąż za osoby zaborcze i agresywne. Po śmierci swego drugiego męża została oskarżona przez jego rodzinę o rażącą niewdzięczność i spowodowanie jego śmierci.
Jest aktywistką walcząca o prawa kobiet, walczy z wszelkim wyzyskiem. Nie utożsamia się z żadnym dotychczasowym systemem władzy, nie ogranicza się do żadnej doktryny filozoficznej ani politycznej, w każdej z nich widzi wady. Pejoratywnie odnosi się do wartości posłuszeństwa, które uważa za przyczynę frustracji i przemocy. Wszelkie systemy oparte na karaniu i nagradzaniu, uważa za archaiczne, powodujące wojny, generujące opresje.
W swojej twórczości dużo posługuje się tekstem i kolażem. Zrealizowała między innymi takie serie prac fotograficznych jak „68 Still in Progress”, 2023 – ikoniczne hasła, które na nowo wyciąga niejako z archiwum, aby zadać pytanie o teraźniejszość. „Rozmówki”, 2024 – w których igra z rolą samej sztuki i jej wartości w świadomości współczesności. Zadaje pytanie o mecenat, który poprzez metodykę stosowania celowanych dystrybucji środków zawłaszcza pole twórców i twórczyń. Po co komu artysta_ka, skoro mecenat kreuje treści sztuki? „I’m an Ugly Woman”, 2017 – seria prac portretów kobiet wycinanych z gazet.
Misia Delomi mieszka i pracuje w Paryżu i Krakowie.
